Drama...

High school is filled with drama

If it is drama between friends;
drama between you and your friend's friend;
or drama that you hear about from your friend and another person.

HIGHSCHOOL IS DRAMA!

I have tried my best to stay out of drama but it follows you every where. Most of the time, for me at least, I just hear about it from my friends. Occasionally, drama starts between me and someone else.

Luckly most of these cases have worked themselves out
  • Sometimes it is a misunderstanding
  • Sometimes it takes someone to forgive and forget
  • Sometimes it needs some time
  • Sometimes it needs to be talked though
  • Sometimes it could never be fixed.

When I look back on the past 4 years I recall many different situation that needed these different solutions. At times I assume things. At times I looked at the problem and realized that I was making a bigger deal out of something that wasnt that big of a deal. There were times that problem got better with time and they were easier to talk about and get past. Some situation needed to be talked about even if I really didn't want to. And there are always those situation that can never be solved.

When a best friend turns on you; stabs you in the back. Or when an aquantance tries her hardest to steal a boyfriend.

These are only my experiences problems that could never go back to the way they were or be solved. But I'm sure there are many more in a teenager's life; and many more I will experience.

So when entering highschool, feeling awesome that you are no longer a middle schooler; remember to be ready for drama

BECAUSE
Highschool is filled with drama

OMG!...PROM

So prom is finally here...
Plans have changed once again.

  • My date is Dallas
  • My dress - still yellow
  • Hair done at Capri
  • Pictures at Tiffany's
  • Grandmarch at Kennedy
  • Dinner at Elmcrest
  • Dance at Elmcrest
  • Post prom at bowling ally
  • post post prom...who knows where!

I have to work every day this week; except for tomarrow. And tomarrow these things need to be done:

  • Find dressy sandles to change into after pictures
  • Go to the bank
  • Get my nails done
  • Pre-order me and Dallas' flowers
  • Get "clothes" for under my dress
  • Watch results of American Idol!

Oh my god. I just feel like there is so much to do and only one day to do it since I work every flippin' day this week!

But it should all be worth it. Dallas doesnt really want to go, but he does want to go with me, and doesnt want me to have to go with anyone else. Hopefully it will turn out more fun than he thinks it will.

AND
Hopefully no drama happens. We are in a group with my friends who happen have dates that are Dallas' friends too.

EXCEPT

...for one girl who has cheated on Dallas' bestfriend/"brother". There are hard feelings on both sides and she is in the group we are going with. Dallas said he won't cause anything so hopefully nothing does happen.

This is going to be an amazing night
One night that I have thought and dreamed about for a long time
A night that I will never forget!

Me and Wolverine...

James Logan aka Wolverine and his brother Victor Creed (who will later become Sabretooth) run away together as children in the mid 1850's after Logan kills their biological father who had murdered Logan's adoptive father.
After serving together in many wars they are recruited by William Stryker to serve in a special unit made up of mutants. After wiping out an African villiage, Logan quits the unit and goes off to live a life of peace in the Canadian Rockies with his girlfriend later to be known as the Silver Fox.
Six years pass for the both of them until Stryker shows up and asks Logan to come back and be a part of a new Weapon X project. Logan refuses but Creed shows up and murders Logan's girlfriend leaving him wanting revenge against his brother.
Logan accepts Strykers offer to be infused with Adamantium so that he can be indestructable and go after his revenge but is double crossed by Stryker and hears him give the order to wipe his memories.
Escaping before this can happen, he goes searching for Creed killing anyone who gets in his way.
After reuniting with a few members of his old team, he finds out that Stryker and Creed are actually working together to kidnap mutants and keep them in confinement working on a new project!

Don't You Ever Wish...

Don't you ever wish everything went the way you wanted them to go? Do you ever wish things were back to the way they were, the way they use to be?

Don't you ever wish you could hear what people are thinking, listen to what everyone is saying or do what everyone else gets to do? Is it our own fault that we cannot relate to those in need?

Is it just me who wants things to go my way; whose dreams get broken because they only exist in fairy tales? Am I the only one who wants peace; everything to work out with everyone?

Why is it that I over-react to all the little things that go wrong? Who else can't see beyond the present? Does anyone out there want the things I want?

Can't anyone understand me; comprehend my past, present and future? Who is out there that look past my fake emotions and see the real me? Is anyone out there that can?

Are you the one who puts thier whole heart in your relationships, then when it ends, gets broken? Who am I to hold back myself from loving and caring the way that others care and love?

Doesn't everyone in the end get hurt? Whom among us hasn't loved and lost that love? Is there anyone who has that perfect life and doesn't have to experience the pain of the loss in thier own life?

Why can't people understand one another? Who can't give up a small amount of time and energy for someone you love? Is selfishness the new moral to live by?

Won't every little girl's dreams soon be broken by that one guy who doesn't care? Will someone be there to hold me up when I fall? Will someone hear me if I cry?

Don't you every wish everything went the way you wanted them to go? Do you ever wish things were back to the way they were, the way they use to be?

A Purposeful Purpose?...

Well as we all know, education for minors is a law. You must get an education if you are below a certain age. But is that the point of public schools? Public schools may just be around because the government needs a place for kids and teenagers to attend to receive an education. Schools are expected to teach and prepare the attendees for their future. Schools should give an education as well as life experiences.

As I entered public school, coming from a small, private, Christian school, I was overwhelmed with change. In public schools you have to work with people you don’t like as well as meet people you don’t get along with. I think that a purpose of public schools is to educate youth and give life experiences but also suppose to give you a better idea of who you are. As you go though school, you meet new people and find certain people interesting. You find yourself in others.

Now as generation and generation move through school, our world and public schools have changed. It seems like school has become a “day care” for students. Not many are worried about education or worried about their future; they are just worried about who they are going to sit by at lunch. Popularity and the “in crowd” is the main focus at schools now; who is on top of the social ladder.

Is that the purpose of public schools?

A Little Inspiration...

When one door of HAPPINESS closes, another
opens
but often we look
s o l o n g
at the closed door
that we do not see
the one that has been opened for us.
Helen Keller

You learn to speak by speaking,
To study by studying,
To run by running,
To work by working;
and just so you learn to love man by loving.

Taylor...

So I love Taylor Swift...

I would bet that every highschool girl does.

At first, I thought that she was - alright - and just like all the other girl singers trying to hit it big in Hollywood. But then I found out that she writes all her own music. Every word and every note is her own and original.

Not everyone can say that for themselves.

Right now in my perspectives class, we are researching the use of music sampling to make a different song. Is that copywriting or okay? That's what we are suppose to determin.

But if you write all your own music - like Taylor Swift - you wouldn't need to worry about if you are taking someone else's work.

The reason why writing your own music and lyrics is so important to me is because you will sing it with emotion. They are your feelings and emotions and thoughts and that will come out in the singing. Now whenever I listen to Taylor Swift, I know that the words are her own and accually mean something.
Forever and Always
...
Was I out of line?
Did I say something way too honest
That made you run and hide like a scared little boy?
I looked into your eyes, thought I knew you for a minute
Now I'm not so sure
So here's to everything, coming down to nothing
Here's to silence that cuts me to the core
Where is this going?
Thought I knew for a minute
But I don't anymore
And I stare at the phone and he still hasn't called
And then you feel so low, you can't feel nothin' at all
And you flashback to when he said forever and always
Invisible
She can't see the way your eyes will light up when you smile
She never noticed how you stop and stare whenever she walks by
And you can't see me wanting you the way you want her
But you are everything to me
And I just want to show you, she don't even know you
She's never gonna love you like I want to
And you just see right through me but if you only knew me
We could be a beautiful miracle, unbelievableInstead of just invisible
White Horse
Say you're sorry, that face of an angel
Comes out just when you need it to
As I paced back and forth all this time
Cause I honestly believed in you
Holding on, the days drag on
Stupid girl, I should have known
I should have known
I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairy tale
I'm not the one you'll sweep off her feet
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain't Hollywood, this is a small town
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it's too late for you and your white horse, to come around

One Last Dance

I can not wait for prom!

I am way beyond way excited!

So what dress am I wearing?

My dress not a huge dress. It's a simple floorlength, v-neck dress. The back of the dress is also in a v-shape and cuts down low on my back. It is a yellow dress with white "squiggles" thoughout it. The neckline is beaded with bronze colored beads as well as along the back of it.

I am so excited!

(The picture is not the exact dress I am planning on wearing, just close to it)

I have decided to leave my hair down. I think I am going to have the sides pulled back and it left down curled with my bangs hanging in the front.

Who is my date?

Well, I am going with one of my friends. His name is Adam.

Prom night is going to be a blast. Just all of us seniors; one last dance - all together!

Fallen into Place

Many parents begin worrying about sending their children to college as soon as they are born. Kids, on the other hand, find their own time to begin considering their options. And, those options are plentiful, with private, public, in-state, out-of- state, liberal arts and technical schools all among the mix. It is not surprising that some teenagers would rather visit their Facebook page than begin thinking about life after high school.

But choosing a college does not have to be painful. It can actually be exciting. Approaching the matter openly will make the process rewarding and successful. A visit to a school guidance counselor early in their high school career can help students begin to plan for the future. The sooner students start looking ahead, the better their options will be when they start making choices.

Yesterday I went to tour my college once more. I leased my appartment for August 1st and can't wait till I get to move out of my parents house and into my appartment and finally become a hairstylist! I'm glad I finally have a plan for after highschool; and even though I may have chosen Facebook over searching for a college a couple of times; things have still fallen into place!

Here's To You...

Today, my boyfriend broke up with me because apparently
I need to "grow up". He is the one who plays excesive Call of Duty and still has Pokemon
and Bionicles in his room.
FML

Isn't this the truth! If I wrote a "FML" for every time that I have heard that I am immature from a guy who still plays WOW ( for all you out there who don't know what WOW is ; World Of Warcraft) and wears his pajama's all day...I'm pretty sure I'd have a billion "FML" stories.

What is it, with boys and thier toys?

Whether it is a video game like Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4 , or a video game like DOTA or WOW , or even thier cars, computers, phones or iPods; boys seem to always put "toys' first. I use to think that guys got rid of these habits as they matured. But either they guys I know haven't matured or the "toys" never go away!

So here's to you boys, who love your toys. May they always keep you entertained and immature!

Dear...

Dear all those out there who thinks a teens life is easy,

Do you even remember being a teenager? Do you remember how YOU felt towards your parents? Do you remember the stress of school, your friends, your enemies, your family or your job? Do you remember?

A teens life is hard! There are teens out there, everywhere, who are trying to be heard, want to get thier voices out and help kids beginning to become a teenager.

Choices have to be made every single day. Some choices that you may think are easy; but in reality are hard for a teen.

  • Coming to school
  • Going to class
  • Respecting the teacher
  • Participating

...easy choices? Well maybe for you.

Give teenagers a little slack. Not all of them live in rich houses with awesome parents and where crowned homecoming queen. Not every teenager has eveything given to them with a bat of thier eyelashes.

Some teens...have a hard life

Sincerely,

LEAH

Let Me See You're MOODS Swing...

Don't you just love mood swings? It seems like every teacher I have ever had has mood swings; some alot worse than others. One of my teachers, let's call him Mr. Smith, has the worst. One day he will be laughing and joking around with our class and then the next day; sitting in his desk, in a pissy mood, and not tolerating any talking.

"Why is it okay that girls have mood swings, but not adults; not teachers?" -you may be asking me...

Well, teachers are held to a higher expectation and I guess girls are not. To me, girls are just expected to have thier "off days". No, this doesn't give them an excuse to be a drama queen but most have come to expect it.

When teachers act like this...I begin to see them differnently.

"Don't judge, Leah!"

"They're having an off day, Leah!'

"They are only human, Leah!"

Yah, yah, yah...

Well future highschool students, all I have to say is; be ready for those teachers who one day seem to be the "greatest teacher in the world" and the next day throw whiteboard markers at the wall in frustration.

Senior-ITIS

Senioritis : A crippling disease that strikes high school seniors. Symptoms include: laziness, an over-excessive wearing of track pants, old athletic shirts, sweatpants, athletic shorts, and sweatshirts. Also features a lack of studying, repeated absences, and a generally dismissive attitude. The only known cure is a phenomenon known as graduation. Senioritis affects everyone, regardless of sex, age, height, race, etc. It happens naturally like chicken pox.

Personally Senioritis hit me after the first few exciting weeks of being a senior. I WAS excited to be a senior. I WAS excited to be back at school. Now all Im excited about it getting out of school. And prom of course, oh; and spring break!

Treatment for senioritis: Continue to slack off for the rest of the senior year, doing whatever you want. Usually graduation is the pinnacle for the end of senioritis for the student effectively becomes a college student and has to work hard otherwise he works at Burger King. In some cases, treatment may not work, and the student may exhibit senioritis in college. In these cases, it is adviseable for the student to do research on "procrastination" and possibly visit a psychiatrist for further treatment.

Blogging Blog

If you didn't know...this blog is for my PERSPECTIVES CLASS. So sorry readers, I am required to blog about; blogging. So here we go...

Blogging is alot funner, cooler, easier, more interesting and entertaining than writting in a notebook. Here we can mess with

APPERENCE OF WORDS....................................................................................BOLD...ITALICIZED

AND YOU CAN ADD MEDIA

I think that this is the best and smartest desicion for an assignment that I have ever gotten. Everyone seems to love it and enjoy it, and you can read your friends blogs!

The Emotional Emo

Emo use to be the adjective used to discribe music. It use to discribe a genre of hardcor punk and pop punk music. So why is it that we use the word now to discribe people?

Today emo is commonly tied to both music and fashion as well as an inspiration toward the emo subculture, and the term "emo" is sometimes stereotyped with tight jeans on males and females alike, long fringe (bangs) brushed to one side of the face or over one or both eyes, dyed black, straight hair, tight t-shirts (usually short-sleeved) which often bear the names of emo bands (or other designer shirts), studded belts, belt buckles, canvas sneakers or skate shoes or other black shoes and thick, black horn-rimmed glasses. This fashion has at times been characterized as a FAD. Early on, emo fashion was associated with a clean cut lookbut as the style spread to younger teenagers, the style has become darker, with long bangs and emphasis on the colour black replacing sweatervests. In recent years the popular media have associated emo with a stereotype that includes being emotional, sensitive or shy. It is also associated with depression, self-injury, and suicide.

Don’t worry! Not all “emos” are suicidal or cut themselves. That is just a stereotype! Personally, I think that emo hair is cool. I even now have blond, brown and blue hair. The emo style appeals to some; me included. The emos show their personality through their apperence. AND THAT IS COOL! Sometimes I just wish I didn’t care what people thought or wasn’t so insecure in how I look.

Who knows, maybe one day I too will become an EMO!

Differences Alike

So as I entered high school, I quickly realized that there are many different types of people in this world. There are those who play sports – that’s it – and sports are their life. They wake up early in the morning to come to the school and lift weights to be in shape for a sport, they eat healthy food to stay in shape for their sport ; some even play a different sport just so that they will be in shape whenever it is time for THEIR sport to be in season. These kids, I like to call jocks.

Another type of person is the kids who may only take a shower once a week. They come to school and don’t care what they look like and don’t care what people think about their appearance. In our school they seem to hang around the gym or the right corner of our foyer. I had never stereotyped these kids before until I came to high school, where I learned that they are called “the dirties”.

Kids who walk around with different colored hair and baggy clothes were a new type of person to me too. Some do their makeup drastically, some where crazy clothes and some of their hair is styled wacky. These kids I have learned are called “emo”

In high school, you can be whoever you want to be and there will always be someone there to be a friend; either if you want to be a jock, a snob, a prep, a dirty, a teacher’s pet or an emo.

It's My Choice

SEX --- Every teen has to learn about it in one way or another. Either if it is by watching a movie or TV, or from a parent or friend, or by a sex-ed teacher handing out condoms. For some reason the word sex makes my stomach flutter, like I'm a little girl again who found out a boy likes me. The topic just seems to be an uncomfortable topic, and a topic that I was prevented to know about while I grew up. No, I don't giggle anymore when someone talks about it and I don't blush when someone says the word "sex".

Teachers - Parents ; we know about the risks. We know that we may conceive a baby or get an STD. We understand the consequences. And the older I get, the more choices I want to make by myself. I dont just want to make a choice about sex or drugs or school - I want to decide for myself where I go to hang out and who I hang out with. I want to be able to be responsible enough to get enough sleep for school the next day and know my parents won't be staying up and waiting in the living room for me to come home. Growing up means being independent and making decisions, right or wrong.

So fellow students, go out there and make decisions and think about what you want in life.

A Common Love

There is one thing in my school that seems to connect an emo kid with a teacher's pet or a geek with a jock, and that is Xbox.

Personally, I don't play - I watch. My boyfriends was way addicted to Xbox. He played Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 all the time. Not to my knowlege until he started attending my school, did I find out EVERYONE plays Xbox! I never realized that when people talked about headshots and needlers, powning and lagging - that they were talking about video games.

I watch my boyfriend play alot. I've learned the lingo, I can now offically use "rapped" and "noobs" in a sentence correctly. I've never played but what I have done is put the headset on and listen/talk to people playing with my boyfriend. Xbox talk is like a whole different language - its like a language of hate and anger. I don't think a sentence is said with out profanity in it! Is it the game that makes the players angry or is it the players who are angry play Xbox?

I guess I will never know. But if you ever want to stay connected with your fellow classmates and have a fun game of Spartans killing eachother than Xbox may be the game system for you!

My Highschool Sweetheart

One question has clouded my mind for the last 2 weeks or so. A question that may never be answered until my life is over, until I'm living my after life and able to look back on the life I lived on Earth. This question may be one question that everyone asks themselves when they find a person that they care about, that they may love and want to spend the rest of thier lives with....

Is there only one true love for everyone; only one person out there who was made for you?

If "God" created every person to have one true love, than what would happen if we lost them? What would happen if we had never found them or if something didn't work out?

Well finally I found the answer to my question. I have decided that there is only one person who is made for you. Adam had Eve, Romeo had Juliet, and Jack had Rose.

All I have to say is; don't settle for less. Somewhere out there is your prince or princess. Someone who will love you even when you make mistakes. Some one who thinks your perfect even though he/she knows your flaws. There is someone out there who can read your mind and know what your thinking by looking in your eyes. That person is out there; I found mine.

Lesson 1

Highschool Lesson 1: People are not good at keeping secrets. If you tell someone a secret you might as well tell everyone, because the person you tell will most likely tell at least one person. That person will tell at least one person, and so on, until eventually everyone knows.

Nobody knows everything about you, but everyone knows everything about that one thing you DON'T want people to know about. Whether it is a family problem, a boyfriend/girlfriend break up, a homecoming proposal or something that you may not have remembered doing last weekend - secrets are hard to keep to yourself.

Stuff happens. The best way to deal with it is to proboly just laugh it off or except that it happend and not make a big deal about it. If you make it a big deal, so will everyone else. Whenever people discuss their high school lives, they usually talk about the happiest moments or the excitement they have encountered not the gossip they heard.
There are no secrets in highschool, someone always knows something they shouldn't.

Highschool Love

"Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night."- William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet, 1.5

Some may believe love is walking down the beach; a stary and breezy night, hand in hand with the one person who makes them happy. Some highschool kids may believe love is walking down the hall, in a crowded and hot school, hand in hand with the person they are dating.

It kind of disgust me when I am trying to walk to my next class and can't get to it unless I were to walk in the middle of two kids (proboly freshmen) macking on eachother. When I hear them say "I love you" and "I'll miss you" and then follow with something like "I don't know if I will be able to wait till next hour to see you" or "It's going to feel like eternity till I see you again", I just want to walk up to them and smack them.

I'm not against the highschool dating thing, I was doing it too. I didn't ever do the "I'll miss you" "I can't live without you" thing but I dated a guy, one guy. Dallas and I met as freshmen and dating from then until this year, which is about 4 years.

It's hard dating in highschool. There are labels that get put on you, people who talk about you, and of course that one person who isn't happy that you are together and may do something about it. Kids are still growing in highschool and may find themselves growing apart from the person they are dating; no matter how much they don't want to.

A highschool sweetheart; it's overrated.

Happy Eating

Chicken Pita, Pasta Bar, Chicken Fajita, Baked Ravioli, Tortellini - sound appatizing? It would taste as good as it sounds too; except that it is coming out of a highschool cafeteria!
As highschoolers, we are all still growing. If not vertically, we are growing horizontally. Last year, we had a lunch line just for fries and burgers - and believe me - those fries were not FRENCH fries, they were GREASE fries. So this year they were taken away as well as HY-VEE chinees Fridays.
I wish lunch was more appatizing. Maybe I would accually stay and eat it if it looked presentable! Poor lunch ladies and lunch men, so much work! They open up a frozen box and stick it in the oven, hoping it will come out smelling and looking like it is suppose to. But all of us know that you can't usually stick baked ravioli in the oven, giving no attention to them and have them turn out the way they were ment to turn out.
Personally I would rather leave for lunch with my friends and go to Wendys and get one of the new $.99 burgers. It's cheaper, more fun and proboly more healthy.
HAPPY EATING!
